The Hadassah/Shalva Partnership

The partnership between the Hadassah Medical Organization and Shalva-The Association for Mentally & Physically Challenged Children in Israel has served to spearhead a world of advanced services and research for chronically ill and special needs people both in Israel and throughout the world.

The Hadassah Medical Organization was founded by the Women's Zionist Organization of America and pioneered the development of standards and practices of health care in Israel. In time, Shalva's humble, grass-roots origins established comprehensive extracurricular therapies and activities while offering full-support services to the families of special needs infants, children and young adults. Both organizations focus their activities and health initiatives on the betterment of the population of Jerusalem and its environments and they both are deeply rooted in the land of Israel and emphasize the heritage of the people.

All nationalities, races and religions are treated with dignity and respect at both institutions. Tales of friendship and coexistence are widespread, Shalva and Hadassah both serve as bridges-of-peace to all who pass through their doors.

In co-sponsoring the The 2nd Gerry Schwartz and Heather ReismanInternational Congress on Chronic Disorders & Disabilities in Children, Hadassah and Shalva reconfirm their commitment to excellence, compassion and advanced medical/therapeutic health care, consistent with universal, humanitarian principles.
